How to make a square based roof The Hall of Hexagons does not normally concern itself with anything square ... surely you'd be better off with a hexagonal roof as shown here? But if you are determined to be square: The 3-D model shown below can be dragged with your mouse so you can see all round it. I'll show how to cut the 4 triangular panels, so you can make it Each of the 4 triangular panels will look something like the 3-D model below (again, drag it with your mouse). Note the edges are bevelled. Decide the height h and the width w of the roof, and the thickness t of the wood you'll be using.
You'll need four triangular pieces of wood like this, where X is at the top of the roof:
